WW1 Iron Cross Propaganda Medal
These spoof / propaganda medals were produced to crudely resemble the German Iron Cross. They were produced as British war effort fundraisers in a number of different forms and using various metals. They mock the claims and stories of German derring-do as they swept through Belgium and France during WW1. This one shows a German helmet and reads TO DER KAISER. The reverse is blank. Length 4.7cm.
