Early 19th Century Georgian Embroidery. In its original gesso frame and with reverse painted (eglomise) glass. Its a survivor with losses to the frame and image itself. The backing is thin and has a few tears / holes but it still has a stunning look and presence. At 211 years old its doing well. Below the image is written 'Mary Ann Warner. Aged 12 Years. 1815.' This is a large example with frame measuring 62cm x 53cm x 7cm. Apologies for the shadows and reflections in the photos. Very hard to avoid :)
